Exceptional Design and Remodel Results

Design Consulting

When it comes to remodeling your kitchen, bathroom or entire home, it all starts with a great design that’s aesthetically beautiful and everyday comfortable—a functional and timeless design that’s also cost-efficient and tailored to your personal taste and lifestyle. Smart space planning for flow, function and lighting with an emphasize on design continuity are critical elements to a successful remodel. At 612 Design, Eric Carter and our design team will analyze the information and specifications of your remodel project to determine the scope of work and requirements. After listening to your remodel needs and project wish list, we’ll provide you with personalized remodel advice, inspirational design ideas and material recommendations that fits your space, style and budget. The design phase may include creative space planning, realistic budget planning, money-saving design ideas, cabinetry drawings, tile and millwork designs, lighting layout, and smart remodel advice for maximizing your home value. Our talented design team will create customized 3D and 2D computer-aided design (CAD) concept drawings of your new kitchen, bathroom or home, which will help bring your dream space to stunning visual life. Your vivid 3D drawings (as seen below) will not only help you visualize your new space, but they’ll also be necessary for the construction work and obtaining city remodel permits, which we can assist you with. Whether we’re working with you on-site within 400 miles of Minneapolis or virtually via video chat meetings, phone and email communication, you’ll receive the same expert design guidance and personal service for your remodel project. Material Specifying

Shopping and selecting the right materials for your remodel project can be both exciting and overwhelming. At 612 Design, we’ll research, shop and recommend beautiful products, materials and colors that fits your space, style and budget. From eco-friendly products to low-maintenance materials, such as: appliances, cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, tile and stone, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, decorative hardware, shower doors and glass, closet systems, windows, doors, millwork, paint and stain colors, fireplaces, and more. We’ll coordinate showroom shopping appointments with you and our product and material suppliers. We’ll review your final selections and pricing and provide a list with pictures and/or samples of the products and materials for your reference. We’ll also pass on directly to you all available discounts on your products and materials from our suppliers that can often range between 10-50% off MSRP on many items, depending on the manufacturer or supplier. In other words, our cost is your cost, which can help stretch your project budget. Contractor Resources

Once there’s a detailed design plan and all your materials are selected or ordered, you’ll be ready to start planning for the construction phase. Depending on your project scope of work and budget, we’ll research and recommend reputable, local specialty contractors or general contractors for the required construction work on your remodel, such as: demolition, framing, masonry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, drywall, flooring installation, tile installation, cabinetry and millwork installation, painting and staining, and more. We’ll assist you with obtaining and negotiating bottom line, contractor bids for the project construction work, and you’ll pay the contractors direct with complete transparency. We’ll also review the contractor bids to help ensure everything you want and expect is included—and to make sure you’re not paying for anything you don’t need or don’t understand. At 612 Design, we know when it comes to remodeling an older home, there can sometimes be construction surprises that require creative design and problem-solving solutions. Before and after the construction work begins, we’ll be available from start to finish for you and the contractors for design and construction implementation questions, including installation specifications, material layout and installation evaluations. Depending on the size and complexity of your remodel and your project location, this may require us to make occasional or regular on-site project visits (within 400 miles of Minneapolis), or be available virtually via video chat meetings, phone and email communication. We remodeled our kitchen and most of our first floor with 612 Design and we are absolutely thrilled with the result. We interviewed a number of other contractors and designers and Eric was the only one who immediately had ideas for the space. He responded with a detailed estimate within 24 hours and was ready to start right away. He helped us negotiate the best prices on our appliances and materials and offered detailed quotes from subcontractors for every part of the project. Eric was also incredibly responsive - he would answer calls, texts and emails immediately. Obviously no project is without issues but he was constantly looking out for ways to keep costs down while still delivering a high-end result. I think most importantly, he is able to get a good read for the homeowner’s style so you don’t have to make every single decision (he knows what works and more importantly, what doesn’t). We will be using Eric again for our bathroom remodeling projects and have already recommended him to friends and family.
